The Waiting Game

I went to the car service centre around 2pm the other day and only managed to go home at about 5 (bukannya banyak kereta pun)! Waiting for your car to be serviced can be boring as it usually takes hours. You're just sitting in the waiting room, waiting and waiting for someone to finally come over and tell you that it's done. Here are some ideas of things you can do while waiting rather than fidgeting, daydreaming or wandering aimlessly. Heh.

Eat or munch on something.
This works wonderfully for the empty, grumbling stomach. Bring along some food or snacks to keep both stomach and emotional discomforts at bay. The hungrier you are, the angrier you'll be with the long wait (this one applies to me.. is it the same for you?)

Go online.
You can go online on your phone but I bet it's not fun looking at a small screen for a long time. Bring your laptop and adapter along. You'll be so busy entertaining friends on Facebook, playing online games or blogging about the latest, juiciest gossip, you probably don't even realise it's time to go!

Read a book/newspaper.
If you're a book person, take along your favourite book. Relax and enjoy the serenity of the moment while indulging in the stories of romance, sci-fi or even thriller.

Play sudoku or word games.
Sharpen your mind and widen your vocabulary while waiting. Play these games!

Listen to your iPod/MP3 player.
Music is therapeutic - it helps calm people down. So before you go to the service centre, load all your favourite tunes into your player. Who knows? Maybe you can sing along too. After a long day at work, it's certainly a good way to de-stress (make sure takde orang lain dalam bilik tu.. kang tak pepasal orang ingat gila! haha)

Watch TV (if the centre provides one)
Biasanya tempat camni ada Astro so macam-macam ada.. Flip through the channels just for the fun of it or watch your favourite soap operas. Don't forget your tissues. You might need it when the hero died or the so-called loving couple couldn't be together due to family disapproval. Tsk.

Write down your to-do list or grocery list.
Bet you din see this one coming! Always have a pen and paper handy and use the time to make plans of things you wanna get done/buy later. If you have no idea what to write, just doodle away! Do you know that doodling boosts memory and concentration?

Chat with a friend/family member
Yes, bring along your hubby, wife, sister, brother or best friends to keep you company! In fact, get them to  send their car for service at the same time (kalau sama brand lah). After all, that's what friends/families are for, right? ;)

Chat on the phone/Text your friends
You can use this time productively to catch up with friends! You see, there are a lot of things you can do with your phone so always have it with you! Take this opportunity to delete those silly photos or old texts in your phone, update your contact list, play games, or even take vain pictures of yourself (hehe) etc. etc.

As a matter of fact, do whatever you like or want; the point here is to make use of your waiting time. I'm sure you'll find that you have accomplished way more than you imagined. But of course, if all else fails, lean back and...

TIDO!! ;)

What's that saying again? Sleep is the best medicine? =P

p/s: Don't leave your service until it's too late!
