Mad at the Pizza Guy

Today I ordered a pizza for iftaar at about 5.30 pm and guess what??

It only came after one hour later! (usually it's only 30 minutes or so)

What infuriates me the most is, a few minutes after I made the order the manager had called me to confirm about the address so I thought it shouldn't be a problem. After all, this wasn't the first time I'd ever ordered pizza over the phone. You see, iftaar was at 6.20 pm and I had to break fast with only apple juice and dates. Siapa tak bengang?? Dah la lapar! Tak pasal-pasal kurang pahala puasa okay!

I called the manager twice, asking about the pizza and she claimed that the rider was 'new' and is 'unfamiliar' with the roads yet and that I have to understand their predicament, but heck, that's your problem! If he was just a few minutes late, then it's okay.. but half an hour? You gotta be kidding me, right?

In addition, upon arriving, he didn't seem guilty whatsoever though he said he was sorry. I found it hard to contain my anger any longer so I said, "Kenapa tak datang esok je?" sarcastically. Then only he smiled apologetically and replied, "Sorry, tak jumpa jalan." Well, entah kenapa mulut aku laser sangat tadi so I said, "Dah ada alamat, nombor rumah, nombor jalan pun boleh silap lagi. Macamana you boleh jadi pizza delivery guy ni?". Silence. I asked, "Takde free coupons or vouchers as compensation ke?". He replied, "Err, tiada.". While looking at his name tag, I added, "Fairul, right? Saya akan report pasal awak pada your manager, okay? Thanks anyway, sempat juga saya nak berbuka pizza malam ni.." Silence again.

I went into the house, called the manager and complained about the guy. The manager apologised profusely on his behalf and said that she would send a free coupon to me. So, another guy came and apologised again and gave me this:

Personal pan pizza? Well.. better than none, right? After this, I guarantee that the guy, which is only a budak, akan jadi fobia nak hantar pizza lagi! Muahahahaha.. what can I say? The customer is always right, righttt? ;)

p/s: Never mess with a hungry customer! Ha-ha.
p/p/s: I think I might have some anger management issues.

Something for Us to Ponder

Found this article while browsing and I think it's something worth sharing with everyone out there. Spare your 5 minutes and check it out:

DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?
During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, 'How do I know if I married the right person?'
I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, 'It depends. Is that your husband?'
In all seriousness, she answered 'How do you know?'
Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind.
Here's the answer.
EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse/partner. You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies (unconventional behavior/habit).
Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called 'falling' in love... Because it's happening TO YOU.
People in love sometimes say, 'I was swept off my feet.' Think about the imagery of that expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.
Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria (excitement) of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts.
The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.
At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, 'Did I marry the right person?' And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown. People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment.
Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else.
You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):
THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.
SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't 'find' LASTING love. You have to 'make' it day in and day out. That's why we have the expression 'the labor of love.'
Because it takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it takes WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.
Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.
Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable... you can 'make' love.
Love in marriage is indeed a 'decision'... Not just a feeling.
Remember always this:
'God determines who walks into your life.It is up to you to decide who you let to walk away, who you let to stay, and who you refuse to let go.

p/s: Moral of the story -- learn to appreciate what we have irregardless of his/her imperfection. No one can be 'the right person'. We ourselves make the person our right person. So, if you want to make a relationship/marriage a success, you'll have to work at it together. It takes two to tango, you see. :)

Raya Haircut

While everyone is busying themselves with kuih raya, baju raya, sofa raya or even langsir raya, I occupy my time with getting myself a raya haircut! This month is all about making changes and I opt for making a fun one! :)

So, I went from this...

(Tumpang glamour Rachel Bilson kejap hehe)

To this!

Gorgeous and sleek, huh? (bila lagi nak puji diri sendiri? lol)

I had my hair cut short for the first time after a couple of years, and I loveeee it (hiba la jugak tengok rambut kena potong). At first I was scared to cut it all off as I'm afraid that it wouldn't look good on me. I have had long straight hair for a while but I'm getting bored with it looking the same all the time. I guess I got tired of straightening it and worrying about frizz etc. etc. that eventually it just got annoying. So I did it and surprisingly, I don't really miss my hair anymore! Not having to worry about bad hair days (walaupun bertudung) is marvellous.. After all, it alwaysss grows back (sedapkan hati sendiri ha-ha)!!

p/s: Cuaca amat panas sekarang.. so sesuailah berambut pendek! :)

Duit Raya!

What more can I say? Alhamdulillah.. :)

STC's 15th Installation Banquet

(Yeah, so, I've been pretty quiet lately. Things have been really really busy at the moment, but I'm hoping to get everything done before the two-week holidays. :))

The Sandakan Toastmasters Club's 15th Installation Banquet was held at Sabah Hotel (Ballroom) a few weeks ago. The theme was Masquerade Night and it was simply awesome! The theme was perfect for the celebration that calls for extravagance, elegance and opulence! I mean, who doesn't enjoy wearing a beautiful masquerade mask?? So I'll let the pictures do the talking here :)

Funny, funky, freaky masquerade theme dinner!
The sumptuous atmosphere in the ballroom.
The emcees for the night.
Masks on!
Masks off!
Vegas & Waka-waka Dance.
Live band performance (those are my students ^^)
'Paper bags' and body languages game! That's a whole lotta fun!
Group photo of members, the new line-up and honorary guest
(wajib la kan?)
My counterpart and I (hohoho)
With my student, Celestina the songstress

I'm glad I was a part of such a wonderful night! Planning your next dinner party? Go for masquerade theme! It's a great and fun theme for dinner parties. It's also unique, memorable and there's nothing more enjoyable for the guests, women and men, boys and girls, than dressing up in their beautiful masquerade masks! ^^

p/s: Sekejap pakai, sekejap tak pakai.. sebabnya panas tau! Cair mekap.. lol

Make-up Talk

It's amazing what make-up can do!

I thought it would be interesting to see what make-up everyone uses and we may all discover something new worth trying :) First and foremost, what is your daily make-up regime? And how long does it take?

Actually I'm not into major make-up during daytime as I'm always in a rush to work due to my love of a warm bed and sleep. Consequently, I end up doing it in about 5 minutes or so, give or take how awake I am! Ha-ha. I usually start off with moisturiser (Ettusais White Shooter) and sunscreen (L'oreal UV Perfect XL Block - Anti Dullness, SPF 50 kau.. kalau tak cukup gak taktau ler), followed by patting my Revlon 2-Way Whitening Foundation (#06 Natural Beige) very lightly all over the face. Then, I use light or medium in color eye shadows (usually Z.A. or Revlon products), dab my cheek with pale red blush (Body Shop Cheek Colour #05 Tea Rose) and a little gloss on my lips (Dior Addict Ultra Gloss #686 Outrageous Fuchsia).

If I have time, I'll top my lashes with a black mascara (Elizabeth Arden Double Density or Revlon 3D Extreme Mascara), apply lighter shades of eyeliner (The Face Shop Extreme Brush Pen Eyeliner or Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner, ni senang tanggal so sesuai tatkala mahu solat)  or a nice neutral shade of lipstick on my lips (Dior Addict High Shine #554 Backstage Pink, this is my second tube.. sangat gorgeoussss, or Body Shop Delipscious Sheer Lip Colour #07 Raspberry) for a more natural look. Otherwise, I'm likely to overdo it. I realise I do put a lot of gunge on my face, but I think the key to make-up is not how much you put but the effect you achieve. All in all, if all that gunge doesn't make you look fake then it should be fine rightttt! :) Tapi, kadang-kadang kalau dah malas sangat, a little powder and gloss should suffice!

Also, is your night make-up different from your daytime make-up? It should be that way coz when applying make-up in the day you'll want your face to look as natural as possible. You can save the slightly heavier and more dramatic make-up for night-time for that glamourous look. Wearing night-time make-up in the day or daytime make-up at night is like, a big no-no! As for me, I don't add anymore colours for the evening look. I basically make the colours more intense. I also smear some liquid foundation (Revlon Colorstay Makeup #310 Warm Golden) all over the face, curl my lashes and add dark or thick eyeliner (Kate Eyeliner Pencil or Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner, the latter is my fav sebab tak smudgy dan sangat tahan lama, like the name suggests - Colorstay) on top lid to give the eyes a more expressive and bold look. Anyway, go wild with your make up and don't be afraid to try something new!

Many women tend to overlook this important fact, but, remember to choose your make-up carefully as it directly touches the skin! Jangan hentam kromo ja, nanti tak pepasal complain their make-up is clumpy, runny, doesn't look right or causes allergy dan macam-macam lagi lah!  Choose it according to your needs and do consider your skin type, skintone, age, the quality of the makeup, its cost and ingredients used. Branded make-ups pun tak semestinya bagus kan.. campur-campur brand pun takpe asalkan sesuai. After all, the right kind of make-up applied in the right way should bring out the best in you (especially those who have to deal with a lot of people everyday like me)!!

From zero to hero.. ewahhhh!
(btw, make-up kawen memang xleh lawan la!)

What say you?

p/s: So guysss, if you want us to look great, be prepared to sponsor/invest in our make-ups, okie! Standard lah kalau women ni high maintenance! ^^
