Shopping + Makan

Well sapa tak suka shopping kan.. nak nak tak lama lagi nak raya. Bukan sekadar persiapan diri (baju raya, kasut raya etc.) tapi rumah pun nak raya juga! Eh. What I mean is, rumah pun perlu dipersiapkan seadanya sempena nak menyambut Syawal nanti walaupun sebenarnya raya kat kampung

Oleh sebab itu, saya dan Hubby telah merajinkan diri kami after work tadi menjengah Ikea untuk mencuci-cuci mata tengok barangan rumah sambil menghabiskan wang. Well, I'd recommend pergi Ikea on weekdays lepas Zohor (jikalau situasi anda mengizinkan) terutamanya jika anda: 1) tak suke big crowd, 2) tak suke pusing-pusing seploh kali cari parking, 3) tak suke beratur panjang-panjang time nak bayar and the like. Pastu nak tengok barang pun takde lah sampai berlanggar bahu or troli especially waktu weekends or school holidays. Lebih tenang bershopping gitu. Siap jumpa Pak Herman Tino dok shopping sorang-sorang.  Actually takde shopping sangat pun, sekadar mencari storage solutions and mende-mende kecik je yang mostly tidak diperlukan. Selebihnya, like I mentioned before, cuci-cuci mata sambil cari idea untuk rumah sendiri heheh.. Yang tak best tu ada a few things yang mahu dibeli tapi bila pegi sana takde - contohnya ramekins and plate holder :( Entah mana gue mau cari.. any idea?

Oh yeah, kalau korang ada plan nak berbuka at its restaurant, I'd suggest either 1) datang at least sejam awal, or 2) minum air, solat then makan kemudian coz RAMAINYA ORANG!! We were glad that we chose to do the latter sebab tatkala semua orang sibuk mentekederah, suraunya sunyi sepi tiada penghuni (okay ni tipu la sebab ada je orang cuma tak ramai heheh). Nak solat pun tak perlu queue panjang or tak khusyuk coz tak perlu nak terkejar-kejar (cam kat Alamanda itu hari).  Lagi bagus kalau bawa telekung sendiri. Jimat masa. And alhamdulillah, by 8, restaurant dah start clear, so, kami pun dapat makan dan lepak dengan tenang tanpa ada orang menjeling-jeling suruh blah. Heh.

Anyways, if you are a big fan of Ikea meatballs, now you can get them at RM16/20pcs (biasa RM10/10pcs). Makan sorang memang tak terhabis (unless you're a big eater) so sila la share bersama-sama your loved ones ya :)

Cube kira.. banyak kan? Tetiba rasa kat Sweden lak makan meatballs ni heheh *perasan*

Ingat nak makan ice cream seringgit dia yang lemak lagi berkrim itu tapi dah terlalu kenyang lak (hoi hoi what happens to 'berhenti sebelum kenyang'??) Tapi yang penting, time nak balik tu sempat tapau half dozen karipap for sahur! :)

Oh, penatnya hari ni!

Oh My Speed!

Tadi dok belek-belek my MyEG account, sekali terpandang ini:

Oh no!

Anyways, nak tau sebab apa aku sedih selain bakal melayang RM150.00?? Sebab speed aku hanyalah 115kmph kottt.. 115 okeyy.. bukannya 200kmph (elehh memang Myvi tak lepas pun hahahah)..

Watch out!

p/s: Baik korang check account korang.. kot-kot la ada saman yang menunggu huhuhu

Berbuka Luar vs. Di Rumah

Tapi apakan daya, masing-masing punya hometown bukannya a stone's throw away, so berbuka je la dengan family kecik ni, not that I'm complaining though.

Actually tahun ni tahun kedua aku menjalani ibadah puasa bersama Hubby (sebelum ni sorang di Sabah, sorang di Selangor) tapi tahun ni agak berbeza sikit sebab aku bertugas di sesi pagi, unlike last year when I taught in the afternoon session. Waktu tu masa agak limited, plus letih dan tekanan menghadapi jam bila balik membuatkan kitorang end up makan luar or tapau je. Tu pun sebab nak kejar promo Starbucks Buy One Free One tu sebab it's only valid on Weds and Fridays between 6 to 8pm! Boleh gitu? Hahaha

Tak pening kepala nak kejar waktu solat or berebut solat di surau (macam ari tu kat Alamanda ya ampun.. ramainya orang kat surau kecik tuh!), or berkejar-kejar nak book tempat di restoran. Pastu servis restoran pada bulan puasa biasanya tak memuaskan sangat coz ramai orang. Parking pun susah. Nak keluar pulak nak kena bersiap bagai. Leceh. Korang pulak camne?

Apapun aku syukur sangat sebab Hubby tak cerewet when it comes to food. Apa aku masak dia akan makan je. Memandangkan hanya aku dan Hubby kat rumah ni, biasanya aku masak yang simple je - cukup sekadar ada nasi (tak kisah la nasi apa-apa pun.. ari tu ada sekali aku buat nasi tomato yum yum), ayam or ikan (trying to avoid meat and seafood) dan sayur serta buah. In fact, aku masak portion untuk sahur sekali. Kuih pun takde sebab takde pun tak kisah coz makan nasi tu pun dah kenyang. Yang penting, tak membazir! Agak-agak tak berapa reti nak masak tu, belajar le. Bersepah resipi kat Internet.

So tahun ni I vowed not to go to any param sebab it's most likely that I'll end up buying unnecessary amount of food, melainkan bila craving makanan tertentu la. Heh. Lagipun, kadang-kadang makanan kat param tu bukannya sedap sangat pun (melainkan memang proven sedap). Most of the time indah rupa dari rasa. Eh. Tu belum aku masuk bab harga mark-up gegila bila bulan puasa. So moral of the story: masak je la kat rumah.

Hubba-Hubba!

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins[2] (born 5 May 1988), better known simply as Adele (sometimes stylized as ADELE), is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Adele was offered a recording contract from XL Recordings after a friend posted her demo on MySpace in 2006.

Siapa tak kenal Adele kan? Semenjak dia keluarkan album, banyak lagu-lagu yang topped the charts in many countries like 'Rolling in the Deep', 'Someone Like You', 'Set Fire to the Rain' and many more. Rasanya kalau pegi karok, tak sah kot tak nyanyi lagu-lagu beliau. She's one of my favourite singers for the time being (my old entry on her). Her soulful, sultry voice is like no other and that's why I enjoy listening to her. Dedulu dia kategori tembam tapi sekarang dah hot, which is another thing I admire about her - pemangkin semangat untuk kuruskan badan ahahahaha! (if she can do it, so can I! ewahh)

Anyways, check out these fantastic pics of Adele I found on Lolz Parade. Macam tak percaya je hokeyyy:

Bila nak jadi hot macam Adele nih??? Berusahalah!!

Lesson Well Learnt.

Saje nak cerita yang aku frustrated with a group of students ni. I guess I've learnt my lesson well never to agree to supervise a team for an ongoing competition if you don't teach them! Sound selfish and memilih bukan? The thing is, when you teach a class, you have this inexplicable bond with them and it's easier to communicate with them and ask them to do things instead. So yeah, when you don't teach them, it's harder to manage them for these types of competitions.. they just won't listen to you!

Paling tak best is since I don't teach them, I rarely have the chance to see them to discuss about their project. All I know is they make their own decisions without consulting me (ok, I know you all are bright students but that doesn't mean you can do anything you want - they have meetings regularly among the committee members, which I'm not aware of at times because they didn't tell me), which is quite frustrating actually, and they kept giving me excuses (yeah, by blaming me subtly) whenever I seem clueless to anything they're doing. Hellooo?! Mind updating me at all?? Takkan bila aku tanya baru nak beritahu kotttt.. I can't be a part of anything you do if you don't let me in!

Most of the time, they will consult the other teacher advisor, who, yes you guessed it right, teaches them and see them almost on daily basis, and even she herself has troubles updating me about what's going on (tanak orang lain steal your limelight ke? It's not like I want any credit for this pun!) Seriously, what do they have against me? I can't help feeling like an outsider among them although I have tried my utmost best to show my support but it seemed like they don't need me after all - unfortunately, at present my name just exists on paper.

Ye, saya memang kecik hati dengan mereka although I don't show it. *puts my poker face on*

p/s: Oh well, teenagers and their brattiness... ada banyak cerita lagi tapi tak tercerita coz biarlah rahsia.... *simpan jauh-jauh*

12 Ways to Stop Overeating

If you're trying really hard to lose weight and have done everything that's there to do but to no avail, here are 12 tips to help you regain control of your eating habits I found on WeightWatchers site.

  1. Take it slow. Crash dieting is more likely to end in losing control than a slow, steady loss of a pound or two each week.
  2. Don't cheat yourself! Eat a sensible amount of food each day.
  3. Allow occasional treats. If you don't totally cut out "forbidden" foods (such as those donuts that you love), you're more likely to stay on track, because deprivation often leads to overeating. Opt for low-fat versions of favorite foods.
  4. Reward yourself for every win — how about a bath or a walk just to enjoy a sunset rather than a reward consisting of junk food.
  5. Plan ahead to stay in control. Facing a big test or other ordeal that you fear will send you straight to the cookie jar? Try to keep healthy snacks around to nibble on instead, and exercise to offset your munching — and calm you down, too!
  6. Share your feelings — sad, bad or otherwise — with family or friends.
  7. Seek support from others trying to lose weight — family, friends or online buddies. They're there to help, and want to see you succeed.
  8. Look to calming alternatives if stress is your trigger. Anything from deep breathing to yoga to arts and crafts could help. And don't forget: Exercise is a great tranquillizer. (It also reduces your appetite!)
  9. Count to ten. Is overeating your way of coping with anger? Consider other ways of dealing with negative emotions, such as learning assertiveness techniques.
  10. Find other ways to fill the void. If you typically overeat when you're looking for emotional nourishment; stop. Feed your spirit by caring for yourself as well as you can during times when you feel unloved, under-appreciated or unworthy. Be your own biggest fan and try to focus on your successes, not to the occasional lapse.
  11. Be patient and forgiving of yourself. Long-established complex habits won't change overnight.
  12. Avoid all-or-nothing thinking, such as "I've already blown my weight loss plan, I might as well finish off the box." Accept that you may go off the rails from time to time. So you've lost six pounds and regained three? It's important to congratulate yourself for the pounds that you lost. You're doing a great job!

Bersama-sama lah kita berusaha and don't ever give up!

Don't Touch Me, You Pervert

I had a strange encounter earlier today. I was at Guardian browsing through some skincare products when out of the blue a guy approached me and I felt a hand slip around my waist. He called me 'sayang' and it ain't my hubby! I was so shocked and immediately pushed his hand away. I was like "apa pegang-pegang ni??" and the guy just looked at me as I went away. Is he mistaking me for someone else (well he definitely din say sorry) or is he just high or what? Gila betul! Good thing he didn't follow me or do unexpected things or I would have run for my life!

I still remember when I was a teenager, I was harassed once at a pasar malam. Well you know how it is at a pasar malam - crowded, noisy, you get the idea. While moving through a crowd, someone did a firm grab of my butt (yeah, I know righttt!). Of course when I turned around there were tons of people behind me but I had an idea of who did it (a group of guys were right behind me, mind you) but couldn't prove it. I was speechless and didn't know how to react. I also felt embarrassed and boy.. was I traumatic! I even vowed not to go to that pasar malam anymore after that awkward incident!

Do you know that based on a survey in London, more than 4 in 10 young women were sexually harassed in public spaces? (read the article here)

p/s: What will you do in that situation?
