B-day Celebration

My birthday this year was a low-key celebration, just like other years. On the day itself, I was spending my time exploring the beautiful islands of Krabi with my darling Hubby and I loved every minute of it!

Next, I also had a simple, lama-sampai-kedai-nak-tutup dinner at Bumbu Bali with him and my favourite sister! Thanks for the cake, sis! Frankly speaking, hanging out with family and close friends is what I'd like to do for my birthdays - simply because it's fun and stress-free! My birthday wish every year is the same: good health, good working life, more love, more money (ehem) and happiness for all my loved ones.

The birthday girl :)

Soto ayam

Tiramisu.. my fav!

Happy birthday to me!

I also got these awesomeeee spa vouchers from Hubby ♥♥♥♥ (remember this?) Bila agaknya nak pegi ek.. hmmmm pegi sorang mesti tak best!

I really can't thank you guys enough.. but I'll try: thanks a gazillion! =)

Day Out With A Mommy-To-Be

My high school BFF, Faezah was in town for a few days, so I took the opportunity to hang out with her last Thursday. I mean, why not, right? It's not like I see much of her since she currently resides in Terengganu. Plus, she's gonna be really busy soon, especially with the coming of her (first) little bundle of joy.. isn't it great?? I'm so so happy for her as this is what she has always wanted. :)

Since she stayed at a hotel in Klang, we decided to just go to Aeon Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre. It was my first time there, and man, it's hugeeeee! We had our lunch at the food court since we had a hard time deciding what and where to eat.. haha boleh? Bolehlah labu! We also watched Gulliver's Travel, and I hate to say this, but it's very disappointing, no, disastrous! I totally expected a whole lot more from Jack Black.. like, seriously! Yes, I admit that it's kinda funny and entertaining but a bit of a snoozer at times.. even the CGI effects are too obvious and just plausible.. It's not great, okay is probably about right.

Camwhoring tu haruslah kan? Hehe.

Can't wait for the little one to arrive now.. So looking forward to welcoming him/her into the world! ;)

Ho Ho Ho!

Happy Christmas to those who celebrate it.. Have a wonderful, joyous and blessed one this year!

p/s: I'm still on bedrest.. demam lagi :(

I Like!

Do you like visiting IKEA? I'm sure everyone is familiar with IKEA. Don't you just love shopping there? I went there yesterday with Hubby to find some stuff and it was so much fun and we both had a good time.. I was one happy shopper!

My trip to IKEA will be incomplete without...

1) Swedish meatballs
Great for meatball lovers (read: me!).. Love munching on these famous Swedish balls.. 15 piece plate for just RM14. It includes meatballs with cream sauce, french fries and lingonberry preserves. And don't forget that every Tuesday is Meatball Tuesdays! You can get a 10 piece plate for just RM8!

2) Daim cake
You gotta love the cake! It is sold at the restaurant. It's so nice to treat myself some cakes after all that walking and shopping!

3) Ice cream cone
The best part about going to IKEA is the ice cream. It tastes great and is not overly creamy and it only costs RM1 each! Very cheap and yummehh!

4) Curry puff
The curry puff is even better. Stopping by at the cafe on the way out for at least half a dozen puffs is a perfect way to end my shopping day at IKEA. The skin is very thin and soft and the filling of potatoes curry and a piece of boiled egg is very full.

Semua pun food! Hahah. So.. what do you like most about IKEA? I mean, apart from the super nice products + super unreasonable price.. :p

The 30-Day Blog Challenge

Thanks Eimy for recommending this challenge for me.. The challenge involves writing a blog post daily for 30 days. All of the posts should be posted to the same blog. Naturally, it was designed to bring more traffic to your blog. Plus, writing a daily blog post gets you into the habit of writing on a regular basis! I'm not sure whether I can stick with it or not, but will surely try it one day.. well, maybe next year. Teehee. This is like one month worth of blog posts! If this happens, it's gonna be the first time ever in my blogging history that I blog religiously everyday. Ha-ha.

Here's the challenge:

Day 1 – A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.
Day 2 – A photo of something you ate today.
Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date.
Day 4 – Your favorite photograph of your best friend.
Day 5 – A photo of yourself two years ago.
Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.
Day 7 – Your dream wedding.
Day 8 – A song to match your mood.
Day 9 – A photo of the item you last purchased.
Day 10 – A photo of our favorite place to eat.
Day 11 – What’s in your makeup bag?
Day 12 – A photograph of the town you live in.
Day 13 – Your favorite musician and why?
Day 14 – A TV show you’re currently addicted to.
Day 15 – Something you don’t leave the house without.
Day 16 – Your celebrity crush.
Day 17 – A photo of you and your family.
Day 18 – Something you crave a lot.
Day 19 – Another picture of yourself.
Day 20 – The meaning behind your blog name.
Day 21 – A photo of something that makes you happy.
Day 22 – A letter to someone who has hurt you recently.
Day 23 – 15 facts about you.
Day 24 – A photo of something that means a lot to you.
Day 25 – What’s in your purse?
Day 26 – A photo of somewhere you’ve been to.
Day 27 – A picture of you last year and now and how have you changed since then?
Day 28 – Your favorite movie.
Day 29 – Something you could never get tired of doing.
Day 30 – A photograph of youself today + three good things that have happened in the past 30 days

Anyone up for it? IsabelleMamaZharfanMissFasha? Anybody? Feel free to do so! Please lemme know if you're gonna take up the challenge so I can follow your blogging venture okie! ;)

Bad Day

I din get to blog about what happened to my car before I came back to Semenanjung and I'm gonna do so now.

I was involved in a road accident. Oh damn right, I did. And the date was 22nd November 2010. It turned out to be my worst day ever. It happened right before I sent my car into the container, and I was due to go back in that very evening. Everything was so wrong. I was supposed to leave Sabah safe and sound, without leaving any unnecessary 'baggage' behind. WTF, right.

I stopped at the traffic light, waiting eagerly for the lights to turn green, knowing that I was already behind schedule. Everything was fine until the traffic light changed from red to green.. I stepped on the accelerator and that was when 'Bang!', a purple Saga came crashing into my car from the right. I was stunned right in the middle of the yellow box junction, man. I really din see that one coming. Really. I could see from my driver seat how badly damaged the front of my ride was. It was all happening too fast, I felt like crying, okay.

I parked at the shop lots nearby. I checked my hood, bumper, fender and lights. The whole side of my car was smashed up! The Malay guy who drove the Saga stopped too. I was furious. I went mental.. I was screaming and yelling and everything.. takde budi bahasa apa dah!

"Look at what you've done! My car is badly damaged! Din you see the traffic light??"
"I din.. the light was still green!"
"Mana boleh! My light turned green.. that means you ran the red light! If both lights are green, of course accidents will occur, stupid!"
"I was just following my friend in the car in front of me."
"You should follow the traffic light, not your friend!"
"You were too fast!"
"What too fast? I was just following the traffic light.. since when abiding the rules is wrong? So, what now?"
"My car is badly damaged too! You pay.. after all you were the one who hit me!"
"That's because you ran the red light, you fool! If not, I wouldn't have hit any car anyway!"

Then, he kept pusing-pusing cakap. I'm not sure whether he even feels guilty about it or not. And he thought he could bully me just because I'm a lady?? No way, man!! I then calmed down and realised it was just an accident and it was his fault not mine. Getting angry wouldn't make the situation any better. But then... he did not want to admit his fault and kept blaming me. Finally, I told him to settle it ourselves since no one wanted to take the blame. Plus, nobody stopped their cars except us who were involved in the crash.. so there were no witnesses whatsoever. With that, I drove away.

The following day, tup-tup I received a call from my school's clerk saying a policeman came by the office and asked for me. Rupa-rupanya, the Saga guy made a police report claiming that it was a hit-and-run case. Sod it.. geramnya!! I called the policeman, told him everything and apart from scolding me for not making a report right after the report, he agreed to help me settle the case since I was already in KL at that time. I was so worried in case they say it's my fault and that the case will be prolonged and I will be prosecuted.. cuak beb! So, I waited and waited and waited.. A few hours later the policeman called back and said that the guy will exclude my plate number from his report so that the matter end there. Takut kebenaran terbongkar ke bang? Nevertheless, I felt relieved. Really, really relieved.

I believe the guy just wants to claim off his insurance to repair his car.. I din make any report since it has to be done where the accident took place.. so I'd have to repair it myself.. mahal memang lah mahal but what other options do I have? I'm just glad that no one got hurt.

Under the Weather

I'm not feeling well today. Yesterday too. And maybe tomorrow. I'm feeling slightly feverish and I have terrible headaches and cold. And I can't sleep at night too. It all started with a sore throat and runny nose, followed by nasty coughing and vomitting.. It has got to be the warm Krabi weather.. It really hurts when I swallow. This sucks!

In any event, it's a very annoying sickness. It's a bit of a bother coz I have a lot of things I need to do, and I just don't feel up to it right now, mentally more than physically. I'm just resting at home now, wearing a hoodie and stockings, wrapping myself in the warm secure embrace of my white duvet, watching TV and drinking plenty of fluid. I'm still not cured but I definitely feel a lot better. So, it'll still be a few more days before I start feeling normal and able to sleep normally!

Makanan ruji orang sakit: bubur nasi.. hehe

p/s: Demam.. tapi masih gatal nak tidur dalam air-cond kihkihkih

Kiz Garden Contest: Aku Suka Taman

Tarikh tutup dilanjutkan till 10 Dec 2010..

Hey, hey, hey..

I don't know what has got into me.. I rarely join online contests but this time I feel like joining this contest/giveaway by Kiz.. Though the dateline is today, I hope it's still not too late for me to share my best picture in a taman!

Anyone can join this contest.. it's free and all you have to do is follow her blogs, put up the contest banner and your picture in a taman on your blog, talk about it a bit and link the entry with the contest entry in her blog. It's just too bad.. really, really bad that the dateline is today.. Sesiapa yang sempat baca entry ni sebelum jam 12 tengah malam, feel free to join this giveaway ya.

Here's my bet:

So, what is so special about this taman? Well, for starters, this picture was taken when I was still studying in NZ and he came to visit me, which is very thoughtful of him. We got the chance to travel to Christchurch where the scenery was breathtakingly beautiful, even in winter time. Daun-daun pelbagai warna berguguran memenuhi one of the tamans in the city dan walaupun pokok dah togel takde daun tapi masih cantik.. romantik sangat for couples in love, just like us! ;) Why do I love this picture? Dah tentulah sebab ada orang yang kat sebelah tu kan! Hehe. Kitorang ambil gambar kat Friendship Corner ni coz it's really meaningful and significant for us.. We started out as friends, then we became a couple and eventually life partners. And even until now, we're the best of friends and lovers!! Do you know that friends make the best lovers? ;)

Next, the three best things about Kiz's blogs are: firstly, I got a new online friend.. weeee.. thanks for dropping by at my blog and introducing yours, Kiz! Secondly, I'm truly inspired by your blog.. it's so bright, colourful and cheerful, it makes me think that you are too, and I'm glad to be your friend! And finally, you have useful links a.k.a. Tuisyen Blog Kiz to entries to help people who are in need of those tutorials (shawl tutorial etc.), for instance, ME! ;)

So, here goes! Saje join suka-suka :)

Shopping Time!

I love shopping - yesss, sales, sales, sales! I mean, who doesn't? Yesterday was JCard Members Day at Jusco, IOI Mall Puchong and boy, I totally forgot about it till we were there to find a present for my best friend who's gonna give birth soon.. No wonder lah the parking was full and there were cars everwhere! I was surprised at first as it was a working day.. and then it hit me - JCard Members Day.. patutlah!!

Sales tu sales jugalah.. but if it's hard for you to find parking.. and next stuck among hordes of shoppers who were crowding the mall, are you sure it's worth it?? Imagine this, I queued at the wrapping counter to wrap my friend's present for a good 40 minutes! Madness!!

Tapi, sempat juga aku borong barang sampai 3 beg plastik! Ha-ha.

Any more sales coming up any time soon?

The latest installment of Narnia or The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is definitely an adventure not to be missed! Awesome movie, indeed!

Credit to OnlineMoviesHut

Here's a bit of a spoiler for all you fans: in this movie, Lucy and Edmund, all grown up, are reunited with King Caspian (from the previous movie) on a big ship called the Dawn Treader. They are also joined by their obnoxious cousin, Eustace. Together, they embark on a journey to find the 7 Lost Lords of Narnia. They make a few stops on several islands and encounter many obstacles and have to overcome alluring, enticing temptations that accompany their quest to defeat evil and banish it from Narnia once and for all.. cewahhh..

What's good about it:
- Amazing special effects and believable CGI.. esp. when you look at the animals like Aslan the lion, Reepicheep the Lion and boy-turned-dragon Eustace :D
- Eustace the cousin was annoying in the beginning, well, till he tried to steal the dragon treasure and became a dragon and gradually made up for his behaviour and became friends with the others and fought the evil forces together. Okay, I din see that one coming.. so, it was kinda cool, really.
- Eustace also provides comic relief and entertainment to this movie as he's very snappish and does not believe in fairy tales. Very amusing.
- Prince Caspian is definitely the eye candy of this movie.. so handsome and very suave! XD
- The world of Narnia is even more fascinating than before! Watch the movie and you'll be amazed at the breathtaking scenery and spectacular view of the ocean and islands.
- There are many life lessons incorporated in the movie's storyline, like be who you are, be brave and stick together in times of trouble etc. etc. so it's great for kids.

Lucy and the Dawn Treader

What's not so good about it:
- The Pevensie children are not going back/may not return to Narnia in the future! In fact, the elder siblings, Peter and Susan only made brief appearances in the current installment. Sedih beb! I cannot bear the Narnia series without the Pevensies though the books said so!
- If you're not a fan of Narnia, you better watch the previous movies to understand the current one. Kalau tak, sure blur!
- I hate the ending.. sorta a cliffhanger. You won't like it either.
- It's like Pirates of the Carribean meets Harry Potter - the voyage, the wardrobe, the sea monster, the magic, finding the seven swords and lords (the Seven Horcruxes, anyone?) yadda yadda yadda
- I only watched the 2D version but people said that there aren't many 3D effects in the 3D version anyway (except for hefty ticket prices), so, I guess it was okay. The same goes to Rapunzel.. I'd have to recommend seeing these two movies in 2D. It would've been as impressive.
- It was a bit of a snoozer at times. It was a bit flat here and there but I have no doubt that kids will enjoy it.. I did too! :)

So, yeah, I'm unconditionally and irrevocably Narnia-fied! Are you?

Which One Are You?

Credit to AmazingNara
Everybody wants to own the best mobile phone in town.. So.. between iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.. which one would you rather have??

It's so funny to see how a Blackberry user is seen by Android users! A dinasour? You gotta be kidding me, right? Ancient sangat ke? Ha-ha. (just kidding ya, no heart feelings) I don't care what iPhone or Blackberry users will think of me, but I still want an Android phone!! ;)

p/s: What's the big deal about Android? Will share in the next entry.. So sleepy.. I just got back from my kampung :)

Woot woot.. love is sooo in the air! December holidays are synonymous with weddings, don't you think so? Actually, it's kelakar to think that people usually get hitched during the holidays kan? I mean, it's not like everybody is on hols in December, right? Plus, I guess there's nothing wrong with getting married at any time of the year. Has it ever occured to you who actually started with the so-called custom/tradition?

But who cares! Ha-ha. Here I wanna share the best pictures from the weddings I'd attended so far. First, it was our cousins' double wedding I mentioned in my previous entry:

Us, with the newlyweds
Hubby's extended family - the Chinese side (did I mention his late Grandpa was a muallaf?)
Personally, no matter how grand it would be having a double wedding, I wouldn't go for it. Why? For all that matters, it's MY special day, MY wedding, MY limelight (okay, I'm exaggerating here), so sharing it with others, siblings ke, cousins ke, just doesn't seem right.. But that's just me, of course.. What do you think?

Also, it was our friend-cum-wedding photographer's wedding last Sunday! So now you know how it feels to be the centre of attention where everybody asks you to pose like this and that non-stop, and keep on smilinggggggggg all the way sampai cramp habis pipi-pipi semua ha-ha! Anywaysss, great to know that you're happy, bro.. Selamat Pengantin Baru!

Hubby with the handsome groom :p
Yummy cendol~

Those who're still looking for a wedding photographer for your own special day, feel free to view his work at his website or contact Hafiz Ismail personally ye.. I'm sure you won't regret it! But of course now it's not the best time to be in touch with him coz he's like on cloud nine or something and is somehow 'unreachable'!
