Durian Galore
Are you a fan of durian? Well, I am! I just loveee the thorny spikes durian with its sharp, pungent aromatic flesh. It has every right to be called the 'King of the Fruits'. The smell is, yes, quite strong, but you will get past it eventually, trust me. And when you do, you'll start to realise what a great taste it has!
This 'udang merah' durian is yummy! |
The durian season is on so I don't wanna miss a thing. Last week, we went to Petaling Jaya SS2 to savour some durians. The place is packed with durian lovers therefore the parking space is limited, but who cares, right?

There is a spread of durians of different types (you name it - check out their website) and conveniently, there are a few tables set up around the area (with shades) for the customers to enjoy the durians on the spot! They even supply a washing area for us, together with complimentary mineral water for our thirsty throats (don't forget to drink from the husk to ease the heatiness)! All you have to do is let them know your preference and the durian experts will choose the durians for you. Just remember not to have too much durians! You know you'll get into trouble if you do! ;)
Do you love durian or do you hate it?
p/s: Do you know that the reason it smells is because it has protein in it which starts to ferment when ripening?
