Got Words?
Kids love it when an English lesson is more than just a lesson. They wanna learn English in a fun way and at the same time have fun while learning English (err, notice the difference?). These Form 3 students were so eager when I brought some Scrabble sets into the class after their trial exam (you know how it is having to wait for exam results and all):

Ain't the completed board look beautiful? |
Well, there are many ways to utilise Scrabble in your lesson. You can either:
- let them play the game to occupy the time (or to unwind, maybe), or
- ask them to create words based on certain topics, or
- ask them to list down the words they have created and construct sentences/a story based on it.
This way, the lesson will be more meaningful and students will be able to challenge themselves to give their best and compete with their peers in a positive way :-)
