Got Words?

Kids love it when an English lesson is more than just a lesson. They wanna learn English in a fun way and at the same time have fun while learning English (err, notice the difference?). These Form 3 students were so eager when I brought some Scrabble sets into the class after their trial exam (you know how it is having to wait for exam results and all):

Cracking his head, thinking of ways to create a word apparently.....
Ain't the completed board look beautiful?

Well, there are many ways to utilise Scrabble in your lesson. You can either:
  1. let them play the game to occupy the time (or to unwind, maybe), or
  2. ask them to create words based on certain topics, or
  3. ask them to list down the words they have created and construct sentences/a story based on it.
This way, the lesson will be more meaningful and students will be able to challenge themselves to give their best and compete with their peers in a positive way :-)

And of course, creativity is also developed along the way....

Love is..... on a scrabble board?

They tried to fit in everybody's name here, but to no avail hehe
