Should Women Work? A Definitive Yes.
I know I haven't blogged in years. Not because I want to, simply because I can't commit to blog regularly. However, lately, there are a lot of things that happened that make me wonder and ponder on the harsh realities of life and its uncertainties, and I reckon, there is no better way than to share it here.

With regards to the title, I'm gonna write about women empowerment. Compared to the past, women today are no less than men and are more empowered, personally, I think due to their ability to multitask efficiently between family and career. Due to that, they have more say and are more independent and confident. So, it's very hard for me to accept the fact that there are some women out there who refuse to work or get a job and solely depend on their spouse/partner for financial support, not because they can't, but simply because they don't want to, or in other words, too complacent with what they have. Mind you, being complacent and grateful are two different things. Yes, of course, while it's good to be grateful for what you have, you gotta prepare for any possibility that could happen in life. What if something happens to their spouse/partner and they lose their source of income?
While it is ultimately entirely up to an individual to work or not, but, the old adage that asks us to make hay while the sun still shines rings true here. It is unfortunate that while so many women are keen on working, they are unable to attain work due to certain reasons and circumstances. So, we should make the most of our opportunities while we have the chance and while it lasts. Regardless how rich and successful your spouse/partner is, or even how he can afford to buy all the things you need and want, I believe that women should work.
This is due to the fact that working presents a set of benefits. By working, a woman can achieve financial independence, and this further helps her gain confidence and self-assurance, and secure her future. Besides this, working enables her to cope with the outside world and deal with problems. She will also have better exposure, learn new things, gain respect and build stronger social connections. Working also allows her to establish her own worth in this world, in addition to freeing oneself from being a liability.
Making women a part of the workforce is beneficial not only for the family and organisation, but also for society. All things considered, a woman should work, even after marriage and motherhood, for the betterment of herself, her satisfaction and happiness.
p/s: Working from home is also a great alternative if you want some flexibility, as long as you get things done.
